Our Worship group

The Worship Group is led by Mr. Spurle. The group meet  to plan, discuss and evaluate  all things Worship at Nyewood. The group have also worked with fellow worship groups and led worship at local schools to develop their skills in delivering effective worship. During Eucharist and Christian festivals they prepare Bible readings and prayers for the services.

The children are committed to promoting Christian values throughout the school. They take their tasks seriously and set good examples for others to follow.

Our worship group taught us about the value of respect through the story of the Good Samaritan from Luke 10:25-37.

They led the worship with confidence and warmth, retelling a modern-day version of the Good Samaritan. Through a short drama set on a local street, they showed a man being ignored after getting hurt, while others walked past. The story ended with a 'Samaritan' stopping to help, offering kindness and care. The worship group explained that respect means noticing others and choosing to help, even when it’s not easy. They reminded the school that Jesus taught respect through love and action, encouraging everyone to look out for those who might be left behind.

Our Autumn term worship focussed on Hope and it's link to bravery. All the children responded brilliantly!
