Year 5 Hanukkah Festival
Hanukkah is the Jewish Festival of Lights. We learned that the word 'Hanukkah' means 'Dedication' in Hebrew.
We danced and acted out the candles. There are eight of them. I fought for the Maccebees in the war against the Kings army! It was a brilliant morning and we learned so much!
Grace and Maci - Year 5
Year 4 Diwali festival
The hall was fully decorated when we walked in. We thought it looked amazing. We did a drama with dancing, acting and funky Hindu moves.
We learned loads about Hinduism which is so interesting. The Hindu’s celebrate one of their gods for five days and five nights!
We learned about Shivu – the destroyer! He was sitting on a snake in the water and the snake was protecting him. We learned about all the Goda and acted them out as well as each of the five days of Diwali.
The acting was my favourite part. We can't wait to learn more about Hinduism. There are many similarities and differences to Christianity. Overall, we give the day 10 out of 10 and we think we should do it again!
