Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
A massive well done to our Nyewood Netball Team who travelled all the way to Burgess Hill to represent the West Sussex County in the Sussex Finals. We are incredibly proud of them for placing 6th out of 9 of the tops schools across the county. Our team showed determination, passion, honesty, teamwork and respect which won us the award for Sussex School Games Values Champion of the tournament.
Mrs Owers and Miss Young would like to say a massive thank you to both of the Nyewood Netball teams (yellow and black) for their dedication training this year. We are incredibly proud of them all!
On the 31st January, Miss Erskine took 47 children to the O2 to perform in Young Voices and be part of the largest school choir in the world!
The children learnt a variety of songs and performed them beautifully!
It was a very long day and they didn't arrive back at school until after 1am!
Thank you to Mr Hughes, Mrs Miller, Mrs Oakes and Mrs Eldridge who also went and kept the children safe on this wonderful once-in-a-lifetime experience.
World Book Day 2024 is fast approaching! We are going to be celebrating on Thursday 7th March 2024, and are inviting all children to dress up as their favourite character from a BOOK if they would like to! We will be looking at lots of poetry on this day, so that might influence your costume choice!
We are aware that the current financial climate is a tricky one for most families, so to help offset some of the costs of a day of dressing up, we are hosting a fancy dress costume swap shop!
If you sort through your dressing up box and find any costumes which no longer fit your children, please bring them to school and place them in the boxes in reception between Thursday February 1stand Monday February 19th. We will then display all of the costumes after school, outside the office, on Thursday 22nd February. You can help yourself to a costume, free of charge, regardless of whether or not you donated one.
We can’t wait to see all of your creative costumes!
Today saw the start of our new lunchtime provision, a long and exciting road ahead to give our children the best possible lunchtimes. It is safe to say there was lots of excitement going on today! As ever, if you have anything you can donate to school then please let us know or have a browse on our Amazon wishlist.
A massive congratulations to our Nyewood Netball Team who showed determination, resilience and sheer talent for the sport which enabled them to come second place in the Stingers Tournament Tuesday. They are now heading into the second round against the top teams from Chichester in hopes of qualifying for county later this year.

Meet your 2024 Happiness Heroes!
Today we visited St Richard's Church where Mother Lucy led our Christmas Carol Service. The children were great ambassadors for our school!
As a staff team, we've been busy this term building our knowledge of books and authors. This week's Book Wave had the theme of 'Books which mean something to us'. We shared which books had something sentimental about it - memories of reading them as children, the unusual vocabulary within it, characters that we could relate to and ones that inspired us to read. Maybe have a chat at home to see which books are special to you as a family.
