Courageous Advocacy at Nyewood
Being a courageous advocate is supporting, defending or speaking out on behalf of others arguing for, or supporting a cause. We actively support charities and organisations that make a difference to peoples lives and our world.
At some point in life we will all face challenges and need support to help us overcome these barriers. We teach our children that it is important to help others when we can no matter who they are, where they come from or what challenges they may face. We teach this through acts of worship, PSHE, RE and learning about other courageous advocates. We work with our children to understand that to support others and fight for justice, we need to understand the root of the problem and tackle it before it spreads.
It is important for our children to appreciate their role as part of a community; to take responsibility, to be able to look after themselves and to foster an understanding of their importance, impact and influence in the world.
Through research, education and supporting those that need it most, we aim to help and make a difference by empowering all pupils and our community to have an impact.
