Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
On World Book Day we dressed up as a word! I dressed up as the word "gamer" and I enjoyed seeing everyone's different outfits because it made me learn some new words. Mrs Williams was 'monochrome' and I had never heard this word before. We also read the story "The Lost Thing" which had brilliant pictures. The whole school read the book and did different activities. It was all about a thing that didn't belong anywhere until a boy helped it to fit in. We talked about this in my class and said everybody should be kind like the boy in the story and help others to fit in. In the afternoon we did a word parade on the playground where we all got to show off our words. Salisbury class then over to Gloucester to share their work from the day. It was great fun!

Bikeability
Year 6 did Bikeability which taught us a lot about road safety, control and awareness. Our first session was on the ballcourt where they examined our bikes and taught us a safety check to do. We also talked about safe clothing to wear on roads. They taught us how to indicate and learn to use the gears.
In our second session, we went on the roads for the first time! Firstly we learnt how to do a u-turn and how to come out of junctions. We rode around the school and local areas. After a while we left the basics and we practised taking the lead of the line and we learnt about road signs. The triangle sign means danger/warning and we repeatedly practised reading the signs whilst cycling.
At the end of the session we got a certificate, booklet and badge if we did well and passed our sessions"

It was great to share the Science learning taking place in Peterborough today. Lily had this to say
"We wrote a non-chronological report about plants including their life cycles, pollination and photosynthesis. We also thought about how we can care for plants and how they care for us. "
Liberty, Lily, Emily and Cynthia are proud to show examples of their work.
Well done Peterborough!
It was a real pleasure to share our Worships with each Year Group this week. It was lovely to gather together outside and enjoy the wonderful weather. Our worships focused on God's Wonderful World of Creation and all it has to offer us and it's all free!! We shared a quiet time together to think about all the things in God’s World that we appreciate and find valuable. These could include the love, care and friendship.
Our Prayer
Heavenly Father
We thank you for all that you provide for us.
Thank you for all of nature and creation, and for the food that we grow, eat and enjoy.
Help us to play our part in creation by looking after each other and all that you have entrusted to our care.
Amen.
Mr Williams spent some time in Year 4 this week to see what the children have been learning. He thought the work they have completed about The Normans was absolutely fantastic!
Here is an account from one of our Year 4 students.
To create our castles we had to learn about 1066. We also got to watch some videos about William the Duke of Normandy and Harold Godwinson’s army battling each other about who wants to be king. Once we watched the videos, Miss Grantham got us to draw a picture of an amazing castle. It was so fun, we all loved it!
There are lots of different parts in a castle – there is a motte, moat, the keep, turrets, drawbridge, arrow loops, baily, portcullis and lots of others. The arrow loops are for shooting arrows, the portcullis is to stop the horses and people coming in. The moat is very dirty water around the outside of the castle. The baily is where their army has houses to sleep in.

We have had an exciting few days in Lichfield class this week. The children have been building Ferris Wheels out of K’nex. Working in small groups, they have used motors and gears to make their structures move. They have worked incredibly hard. Well done!
In Year Four's outside worship we looked at how we can show respect in all aspects of our lives and how this relates to our Christian Value of Dignity. The children were very thoughtful and made great contributions to the Worship. Well done everyone.
