Welcome to Nyewood CE Junior School.

I am delighted to welcome you to Nyewood Church of England Junior School and the amazing Nyewood team.

As a school, it is our over-riding aim that all children enjoy being educated here at Nyewood. We work hard to provide an environment in which children feel safe, secure, confident, happy, valued and involved. We want all of our children to look forward to coming to school!

As an inclusive school we are passionate about meeting and supporting all of our children’s needs, emotionally, academically and spiritually, ensuring their happiness in our safe and nurturing environment. We strive as a whole school community to provide a creative and imaginative curriculum that opens doors into an inviting world, rich in opportunities for our children to enjoy. You will often see our staff dressed as Greek Gods, explorers or superheroes! Our aim is for children to thrive in a learning environment that is designed to engage, excite and provoke curiosity.

Our Christian values and ethos are at the heart of our school, focusing on developing a lifelong love of learning:

We have close relationships with our four parishes (St Michael’s, St Richard’s, St Thomas’ and St Wilfrid’s) that allow for us to fully embrace the Church of England’s Vision for Education, which is ‘Deeply Christian Serving the common Good’, in order to educate the whole child.

We value all our children’s achievements and enjoy celebrating all their successes. Children are actively encouraged to show consideration for others, respect for the environment and each other and a commitment to producing high standards in all aspects of their education.
