Welcome to Nyewood CE Junior School.
I am delighted to welcome you to Nyewood Church of England Junior School and our wonderful Nyewood family.
Here at Nyewood C.E. Junior School we are committed to establishing a safe, inclusive and outstanding learning environment. We strive to promote excitement and enthusiasm for learning so that our children want to share with you their love of learning by talking and asking questions in their eagerness to discover more!
We are extremely proud of our school, and our continual drive for improvement ensures that we are providing the best learning experiences for our children underpinned by our strong Christian ethos.
“The Christian ethos at Nyewood Church of England Junior School is very effectively promoted so as to make a significant impact on the personal development of pupils.” SIAMS Inspection January 2018.
We are ambitious for every child at Nyewood by doing our utmost to enable them to be excellent at reading, writing and maths by tailoring learning to each individual child’s needs. We want them to understand about the world around them, its people and have reverence for history and tradition; but we also want them to be eager for the future ahead of them and ready to take on its challenges and adapt readily to ever-changing demands.
“Leaders, governors and staff share high ambitions for the pupils in your care and work as a united team to improve the quality of provision for all pupils, particularly the most vulnerable.” Ofsted September 2018
Our wonderful children are at the heart of everything we do and, with the help of our dedicated staff, are committed to making the most of the opportunities offered to them. We aim to raise aspirations for each child in order that they aim to be the best that they can be!
At Nyewood C.E. Junior School we believe that in order for a school to be successful, it must be happy. We have nurtured a strong partnership between the school and our families and this lies at the heart of the children’s happiness and success. Nyewood C.E. Junior School is a fun place to be and there is always something happening to enhance an already exciting curriculum. It is not unusual to see the staff and children dressed up as Romans, Victorians or in Chinese costumes! These events bring the curriculum to life and make learning fun for everyone.
We expect exemplary behaviour; good manners, kindness and consideration for others and a “can-do” attitude from everyone. Acts of kindness, selflessness and humility are celebrated and promoted consistently through our Christian values.
I look forward to meeting you in the near future and welcoming you to our school so that you can witness for yourself the exciting learning opportunities the children at Nyewood C.E. Junior School are experiencing by taking a tour with our wonderful ambassadors. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students by adhering to Childcare and Education Legislation, Statutory Government Guidance, the Sussex Child Protection and Safeguarding Procedures and Ofsted's Inspection requirements.
Mr Jon Williams.
