I am delighted to welcome you to Nyewood Church of England Junior School.
Our website is intended to help you to learn more about the life and work of our school and to understand our aims and ethos based on Christian Values as well as our distinctiveness as a church school.
‘Underpinned by Christian Values, which are promoted through Collective Worship, Religious Education and in the environment, Nyewood CE Junior School is confident about its Church School identity.’ (SIAS Inspection Report, June 2012).
We are extremely proud of our school, and our continual drive for improvement ensures that we are providing the best learning experiences for our children, which is evidenced in our most recent Ofsted Inspection.
‘Pupils achieve well and are effectively prepared for the next stage in their education.’ (OfstedMarch 2014.)
Our wonderful children are at the heart of everything we do and, with the help of our dedicated staff, are committed to making the most of the opportunities offered to them.
‘Pupils treat adults and each other with respect and work together well during lessons. Pupils enjoy school and are keen to learn.’ (OfstedMarch 2014.)
I look forward to meeting you in the near future and welcoming you to our school so that you can witness for yourself the exciting learning opportunities the children at Nyewood CE Junior School are experiencing. I’ve always believed that in order for a school to be successful, it must be happy, we have nurtured a strong sense of partnership between the school and the family, and this lies at the heart of the children’s happiness and success. Nyewood C.E. Junior School is a fun place to be, and there is always something happening to enhance an already exciting curriculum. It is not unusual to see the staff and children dressed up as Romans, Victorians or in Chinese costumes. These events bring the curriculum to life and make learning fun for everyone.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students by adhering to Childcare and Education Legislation, Statutory Government Guidance, the Sussex Child Protection and Safeguarding Procedures and Ofsted's Inspection requirements.
