A note to parents:
With regards to the 'Project Work' pages, these tasks are part of our 'Innovate' stage which is where we as teachers would be taking a step back from providing all of the information and the children would become the leaders of their learning. This stage serves a number of purposes, firstly over the past few weeks we have taught the children lots of information about the project (mostly focused on forces) and now this stage acts to demonstrate to us what the children have retained and which gaps they still have within their learning. Therefore these activities will be less 'guided' or 'instructed' by us in the videos/tasks as we would like to see what the children have remembered/retained from the past few weeks. It would be extremely beneficial to us if you can send into school any work that your child completes from the 'Project Work' sections over the next few days as this will then allow for us to address gaps in your child's learning over the year. This work can be sent in with your child when we return after half term.
Hello Year 5! It is such a shame that we didn't quite get started on your 'innovate' project of creating your own drop ride in school. Myself, Miss Higgins, Mrs Green and Ms Vaughan were all really looking forward to seeing what you created. Don't worry though, you are still going to get the chance to have a go at this but at home! Follow the videos over the next few days which will help you to complete your project. Remember this is the part of the learning where you get to show off all of your knowledge; you all know absolutely loads about forces and theme park rides now so I won't be telling you everything in the videos you will need to think about what you know already.
If you can, keep your drop ride that you make and bring it into school when we come back after half term as it would be brilliant for you to share it with us and the rest of the class!
P.S. if you can't see what is on the whiteboard in the video then check out the bottom of this page where you will find them!
